Dan Uff is a person with a disability who has a love for computers. Starting with his first computer in 1981 (Texas Instruments, TI-99/4A) he quickly became familiar with the technology, and saw the protential for such a device. He made software for the TI-99/4A that included Math Games for children (which included computerized speech) as well as some business software - all of his software was written in BASIC which was the language at the time.

In 1985, he opened one of the first BBSs (Bulletin Board Systems) in the Allentown, PA area, which became one of the most popular computer services of the time.

In 1986, the BBS service became one of the first to offer Internet e-mail, networked message areas, and online games. At its high point, the BBS was adveraging 20-30 calls a day from not only the United States, but the world.

In late 1986, the BBS then expanded from one phone line to four.

Dan graduated in 1987 from Lehigh County Vocational Technical School and Parkland High School and was a member of VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) where he won two sliver medials and one gold medial for lab safety. He then went back for post gradulate training in the computer hardware and software fields.

From 1987 - 1994, Dan continued with his BBS service, converting it to a full-time Internet Service. Allowing his customers to send and receive Internet e-mail and surf the then young World Wide Web. He took the service off-line in 1994.

From 1988 to 1994, he went to work for The Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living as an Information and Referral Specialist. His duties included referring persons to disability services, as well as collecting information on the U.S. Government relating to persons with disabilities. He also brought the said area into the "21st Century" by adding a computerized database to make finding information for him and the staff easier. He then resigned his position to concentrate more on his first passion, computers.

From 1994 to present, Dan has been expending his knowledge of computer hardware and software, including going back to college countless times to keep up with the ever growing computer field. He also went back to learn how to build and repairing PC computers. Finally, he is the head webmaster for LANTA Bus Company, and is responsible for the entire web site.

Although mainly a PC person for most of his career, he finally got a Mac in mid 2004 and has focused on that platform ever since. Dan is a registered developer for Apple, Inc. that develops software for the Mac and iPhone using such computer languages as C, C++, Objective-C, Cocoa, Dashboard, and Quartz Composer.

He does, however, keep up with the PC field for his clients and to further his knowledge about computers, including the just released Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.
